My story:

  • I’m a communications and marketing leader with a deep background in explaining complex topics in everyday language, I help people understand the mechanics of research and feel its benefits — in areas such as technology, health care, and innovations.

  • I have 15 years of experience creating research communications products — websites, magazines, brochures, videos, social media channels, newsletters and outreach campaigns.

  • As a professional journalist prior to working at research universities, I wrote health and science articles for major publications such as Nature and New Scientist. I am the author of the mass-market environmental lifestyle book, Green Guide Families: The Complete Reference for Eco-Friendly Parents (National Geographic, 2010).

  • I served as president (2019-21) of URMA, the international society for university research communicators.
